About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise the activities of the QA Inspectors
- Responsible for labor budget management, performance evaluation, hiring, discipline, coaching, training and development
- Ensure that employees are trained and comply with safe work procedures
- Apply corrective actions when required and report all unsafe working conditions
- Investigate product/process failures quickly and thoroughly
- Manage relationships with intra- and inter-departmental colleagues and suppliers
- Administer all facilities’ hold, release and traceability programs
- Ensure timely release of equipment, ingredients and finished products
- Facilitate transitions between shifts for seamless handoffs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor Degree in Food Science or related field
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance experience in the food industry
- 3 years in a supervisory or management role
- Experience supervising teams at multiple locations in person and remotely
- Ability to work 2nd shift on a routine basis
- SQF Practitioner Certification or working knowledge required
- HACCP and Preventive Controls qualified Individual Certifications required
- Conversational Spanish or Cantonese a plus
- PC Proficiency: Windows, MS Office - Word, Excel, Power Point
