Conduct legal research and investigations to support department staff. Review and respond to assigned complaints, including BBB, CFPB, Attorney General, elevated customer issues, credit bureau reporting, and threats of litigation. Draft and coordinate timely response in partnership with the Legal Department. Track and manage litigation matters, from initial investigation through discovery and coordination with outside counsel. Assist with settlements, leases, special projects, and other departmental requests. Ensure timely reporting and compliance with corporate requirements. Maintain procedures and practices that reflect company policies and a high standard of customer service.
Requirements
5+ years of paralegal experience, including at least 3 years in a corporate or comparable environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to analyze legal contracts and flag areas needing further review. Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems; adaptable to new software. Experience in financial services or state licensing processes is a plus. Spanish language skills is a plus. Bachelor Degree and Paralegal Certificate preferred, or equivalent experience. Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
