About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead content and user experience, reporting to the VP of Product
  • Manage a team of 4–6 across product domains and strategic initiatives
  • Operate as a strategic counterpart to product and engineering leadership in the Product Trio model
  • Partner with Customer Success, Implementation, and Data leaders
  • Establish a cohesive UX strategy and North Star for the Resident Experience Platform
  • Raise the UX bar through critique, coaching, workshops, and design share-outs
  • Hire, develop, level, and provide feedback and compensation input for team members
  • Own named strategic design projects end to end
  • Govern the design system, including tokens, patterns, accessibility standards, governance, and adoption reporting
  • Lead the research practice and evidence-based decision-making
  • Support content design alongside interaction and visual craft
  • Define the AI UX/content operating model, including tooling, risk tiering, and guardrails
  • Provide high-level framing, experience architecture, and design sprints for ambiguous, high-stakes product surfaces
  • Deliver measurable improvements in resident onboarding, move-in satisfaction, support deflection, and internal operations workflows

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years in digital product UX
  • 3+ years managing designers directly
  • Current hands-on design experience with recent work examples
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and level up people
  • Design systems experience at the architecture level, including tokens, patterns, distributed contribution, and drift management
  • Ability to evaluate UX and content work quality and level
  • Ability to define, instrument, and act on success metrics
  • Executive communication skills, including UX strategy, tradeoffs, outcomes, and business metrics
  • Ability to build a research practice with residents and property managers, including usability testing and behavioral data
  • A clear position on AI and design
  • Hands-on experience with AI tooling for prototyping, content, research synthesis, or design-system compliance on shipped work
  • Experience across consumer and operator design
  • Must be available during scheduled working hours and maintain a quiet, professional, distraction-free workspace
  • Must have reliable high-speed internet
  • Must attend bi-annual in-person company meetings
  • Must provide proof of legal right to work in the United States after hiring
