About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate and manage new and return patients from birth to age 21 with pediatric kidney conditions including hypertension, hematuria, kidney stones, and proteinuria
- Diagnose and treat pediatric patients with primary and secondary high blood pressure using national clinical guidelines
- Educate families on disease management, medication adherence, nutrition, and home care strategies
- Provide front-line support for families, primary care providers, and regional partners
- Coordinate care with pediatric nephrologists, dietitians, social workers, and regional primary care providers across the Pacific Northwest
- Support families through regular deployment to the Main Seattle campus, South Clinic in Federal Way, and Olympia
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program
- One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area
- Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington
- Nurse Practitioners: Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner
- Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington
- Physician Assistants: Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals at time of hire and continuously throughout employment, or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) in lieu of BLS
- Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification
- Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital secured prior to time of hire and maintained in good standing
- Preferred: Two years experience in advanced practice provider role
- Preferred: Two years experience in pediatric health care
