About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assume primary responsibility for the clinical management of patients in ambulatory and, occasionally, inpatient settings
- Obtain comprehensive patient histories, perform physical examinations, order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, echoes, stress tests), and develop evidence-based treatment plans
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic measures as appropriate for the patient population
- Collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, subspecialists, and other members of the health care team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high-quality care
- Direct or actively participate in case management and continuing care planning
- Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement (CPQI) projects, and participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the health care team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program
- One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area
- Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington (for Nurse Practitioners)
- Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner (for Nurse Practitioners)
- Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington (for Physician Assistants)
- Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for Physician Assistants)
- Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment
