Temporary Gyn RN for Adolescent Medicine providing pediatric and adolescent nursing care at Seattle Children’s.
Functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State and ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice.
Provide safe, family centered patient care using the Nursing Care Process.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in collaboration with patients, families, and the health care team.
May supervise and delegate tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others.
Incorporate Seattle Children’s strategic initiatives into daily work (Continuous Performance Improvement, Value Based Behaviors, Error Prevention, Patient Safety, Workforce Community and Connection).
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Prior experience in a pediatric related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments.
Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required at time of hire unless the incumbent possesses a current appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area.
Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers.
ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute to the requirements listed above.
Employees are responsible for any costs (including time away from work) associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not a requirement of the position.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Preferred: Pediatric health care nursing experience.
May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code.
