About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a comprehensive refactor of our large-scale Next.js application, introducing best practices in architecture, performance, and maintainability.
  • Define and maintain architectural patterns for enterprise-grade Next.js applications.
  • Establish scalable and maintainable state management strategies (including MobX, Redux, Zustand, or similar).
  • Standardize coding practices, component structures, and testing strategies across the frontend team.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to frontend engineers, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to align frontend architecture with business and UX goals.
  • Lead code reviews and architectural discussions.
  • Profile and optimize application performance using Lighthouse, Web Vitals, React Profiler, and similar tools.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of professional experience in frontend engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record of maintaining, refactoring, and scaling large Next.js applications.
  • Deep expertise in Next.js, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of frontend architecture and large-scale state management (including MobX).
  • Experience delivering enterprise-level web products with high performance and maintainability requirements.
  • Skilled in working with design systems, reusable components, and responsive UI development.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design teams.
