About the role
- Engage during the development of new reader and writer technologies, including Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR)
- Integrate those technologies into the factory and bring to volume production readiness
- May specialize in a specific discipline (lithography, vacuum, plate, CMP, metrology, configuration/product support) within the new process launch space
- Interact with levels of personnel from Directors to Technicians and Operators
- Communicate well to foster strong relationships and common understanding
- Develop and deliver tactical direction on critical issues
- Prepare and present documented results to a variety of audiences
- Demonstrate good judgment related to technical and business impacts of process change recommendations
- Design experiments in a way that generates meaningful and accurate results
- Actively contribute to daily troubleshooting of material, manufacturing process and product design issues
- Develop skills in Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Data Science
- Support and Develop Automation with Training using Microsoft Power Automate, Python, and OCAPs
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field such as Physics Chemistry, Material Science, etc. and 8+ years of experience
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field such as Physics Chemistry, Material Science, etc. and 6+ years of experience
- PhD and 3+ years of experience or equivalent education and experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills so as to convey complex and technical subject matter to a variety of audiences
- Capability to work in a clean room environment and sometimes be on-call to support off-shift issues
- Demonstrable ability to apply design of experiments and statistical process control techniques
- Ability to travel to international manufacturing sites on an occasional basis
