About the role

  • Work closely with R&D engineering staff to manage development of future technologies, Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and initial Minimum Viable Products (MVPs)
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams to achieve project goals and milestones
  • Employ program management best practices and manage/consult on multiple programs in parallel
  • Drive, track, and report program progress, challenges, and opportunities
  • Support a diverse range of technologies including new data storage architectures, systems, and devices
  • Assist with procurement activities and build requests for early technology development projects
  • Use common tools for project management, collaboration, and communication (M365, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Jira, Lucid)
  • Enable data-driven decision-making by supporting Project/Portfolio Management, efficiency improvements, data analysis and visualization (Alteryx, Tableau)
  • Participate in continuous improvement, professional development groups, and community-building for R&PD
  • Support event coordination and communications for technical reviews and research operations

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organization and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to lead complex projects across multiple teams, locations, and time zones
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for team-level and executive communications
  • Knowledge of computer systems and networks
  • Fluency in project management and collaboration tools (M365 tools, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Jira, Lucid)
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated experience effectively leading diverse teams and coordinating with subject matter experts
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems
  • Familiarity with common procurement systems and processes (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Ability to travel up to <10%
