About the role
- Under the general supervision of a Seagate attorney, draft and negotiate contracts - primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial contracts supporting Seagate's global operations
- Use AI tools to assist with routine tasks, including contract review
- Partner with internal requestors to determine business requirements and negotiate contract terms based on Seagate’s business requirements
- Recognize non-standard terms and work with attorneys and relevant internal stakeholders to review and approve contract terms
- Independently manage contract workflow and approval processes to ensure that internal stakeholders review and approve contracts according to Seagate policies
- Maintain a database of contracts and updates throughout the contract lifecycle, from requesting, drafting, and signing; through amending, renewing, terminating, and archiving
- Work cross-functionally to support other areas of the legal department, such as compliance, dispute resolution, intellectual property, government relations, and labor law; and will help coordinate matters between Seagate attorneys and outside counsel
Requirements
- Drafting, negotiating and managing a variety of commercial contracts, ranging from routine to complex
- Manufacturing-related contracts experience, including direct materials supply agreements, equipment purchase and service agreements
- IT/SaaS agreements
- Using Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software tools
- Experience using AI tools in business environment (ideal)
- Interviewing internal clients to understand their business requirements
- Converting business requirements into contractual requirements
- Summarizing contracts and legal documents for internal review
- Summarizing contracts for stakeholders
- Reviewing internal policies with the ability to explain internal policies to stakeholders
- Collaborating on cross-functional projects and teams to improve processes & procedures, and solving complex problems
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office software products
- Bachelor's degree and/or related experience
