About the role
- Develop, test and integrate algorithms for servo pattern writing.
- Get general exposure to other aspects of disk drive servo operation like controls, vibration mitigation and seeking.
- Maintain and develop tools and processes for design and validation of algorithms, compliance to requirements metrics, and compatibility with other components.
Requirements
- Emphasis on closed loop controls and signal processing.
- Coursework on graduate level signal processing coursework is desired.
- Advanced signal processing, position control of precision equipment.
- Real-time embedded firmware design.
- Programming in embedded C, Python, and Matlab.
- Current student in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Returning to classes in Fall 2026. (Master's or PhD level candidates preferred.)
