About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Produce timely and accurate Spanish payroll for SAP MPS customers
  • Execute and review SAP payroll calculations, gross-to-net validation, payroll checks, variance checks, corrections, final payroll preparation, and payroll closure
  • Support monthly payroll processing, data validation, payroll runs, output preparation, post-payroll activities, and customer approval coordination
  • Manage Spanish Social Security activities through Sistema RED and SLD, including registrations, terminations, variations, CRA files, liquidations, discrepancy analysis, resubmissions, confirmation, and closure
  • Support payroll-impacting employee lifecycle processes, including starters, leavers, contractual changes, absences, sickness, parental leave, accidents, holidays, overtime, and other leave types
  • Calculate final payslips and finiquitos
  • Prepare payslips, bank lists, payment files, accounting outputs, CRA and SLD reports, Modelo 111, Modelo 216, and other Spanish payroll reports
  • Support IRPF-related payroll activities and tax-related payroll outputs
  • Process year-end activities and statutory payroll outputs, including annual payroll reconciliation
  • Maintain and improve SOPs, DWIs, payroll guidelines, manuals, and customer-specific process documentation
  • Communicate with customer contacts and internal stakeholders to resolve dependencies and clarify ownership
  • Identify process deviations, system limitations, data quality issues, and payroll risks, escalating through governance channels
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement, testing, validation, operational resilience, and backup coverage
  • Work with SAP AMS and technical teams on payroll configuration, wage types, payroll schemas, and application issues
  • Identify out-of-scope requests and route changes through the appropriate change request process

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in SAP Spanish payroll delivery
  • Experience preferably in payroll outsourcing, managed payroll services, or enterprise business outsourcing
  • Strong knowledge of Spanish payroll calculation, validation, post-payroll, Social Security, tax reporting support, payment outputs, absences, leavers, finiquitos, and year-end activities
  • Practical experience with SAP payroll, preferably SAP HCM Payroll Spain
  • Knowledge of SAP payroll calculations, payroll schemas, wage types, PA/PY/OM-related processes, payroll validation, and issue resolution
  • Experience with Sistema RED, SLD, CRA, AFI, Certific@2, Contrat@, FDI, SILTRA-related processes, IRPF, Modelo 111, Modelo 216, Modelo 190, and other Spanish payroll outputs
  • Experience with customer payroll calendars, strict deadlines, monthly payroll closure, approvals, and post-payroll activities
  • Experience working with customer responsibility splits and customer-owned payroll activities
  • Understanding of SLAs, payroll controls, compliance controls, operational quality, and customer service expectations
  • Experience maintaining SOPs, DWIs, payroll instructions, process documentation, and local payroll procedures
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with customers, payroll teams, SAP AMS colleagues, and service management stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting customer needs
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work under payroll-calendar pressure
  • Fluent Spanish and strong professional English, written and spoken
  • Preferred: experience with SAP MPS, BPO, payroll outsourcing, post-go-live payroll support, SAP SuccessFactors, Employee Central Payroll, Payroll Control Center, Workforce Management, or payroll integration tooling
  • Experience with payroll transitions, parallel payroll processing, UAT, SIT, post-go-live stabilization, multi-entity Spanish payroll environments, inbound and outbound payroll interfaces, accounting outputs, bank files, and statutory reporting files
