About the role
- As Scout’s Senior Manager, Construction Engineering, you’ll be the owner’s technical representative from late-stage design through COD for utility‑scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects.
- You will lead multidisciplinary design reviews, manage third‑party Owner’s Engineers, guide QA/QC and FAT programs, resolve construction RFIs/NCRs, and oversee commissioning and technical handover - establishing standards and capturing lessons learned for a growing IPP with an entrepreneurial culture.
- Your attention to detail and ability to concurrently drive multiple work streams forward on time and on budget will be key to your success.
- Your technical knowledge and experience with interfacing with internal and external construction teams on renewable energy projects will be widely valued in this role.
- Travel to project sites within the United States and Canada is expected during project construction. Remote candidates will be expected to be in the Boulder office one week per month.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
- 8+ years in at least one of the following:
- Design engineer for utility‑scale solar/wind/BESS projects; or
- Owner’s Engineer/technical advisor on renewables; or
- Construction‑phase engineering for utility‑scale renewables (design → IFC → field support).
- Demonstrated Owner’s experience resolving multi‑disciplinary technical issues with EPCs/OEMs; strong understanding of civil & electrical plans/specs.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple workstreams, make sound, timely decisions, and drive accountability across internal/external teams.
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to perform field work required.
