About the role
- Develop world class relationships with major home center retail partners
- Utilize strategic selling tactics by analyzing and preparing key metrics
- Advise customers through metric updates and business reviews
- Manage and direct the work of Merchandisers
- Develop recruiting plans, interviewing and make hiring decisions
- Coaching and developing career paths for each associate on your team
- Provide job training and communicate product knowledge
- Develop retail sales/marketing plans and other creative marketing tools and events
- Assist retailers in the proper merchandising of Scotts’ product lines
- Manage your budget by effectively controlling expenditures
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year experience in retail, merchandising, and/or account management
- Experience using sales forecasting tools
- Current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to routinely walk, stand, climb an 8-12 foot ladder, lift up to 45 lbs and be exposed to weather elements (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain)
