About the role

  • Develop world class relationships with major home center retail partners
  • Utilize strategic selling tactics by analyzing and preparing key metrics
  • Advise customers through metric updates and business reviews
  • Manage and direct the work of Merchandisers
  • Develop recruiting plans, interviewing and make hiring decisions
  • Coaching and developing career paths for each associate on your team
  • Provide job training and communicate product knowledge
  • Develop retail sales/marketing plans and other creative marketing tools and events
  • Assist retailers in the proper merchandising of Scotts’ product lines
  • Manage your budget by effectively controlling expenditures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in retail, merchandising, and/or account management
  • Experience using sales forecasting tools
  • Current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to routinely walk, stand, climb an 8-12 foot ladder, lift up to 45 lbs and be exposed to weather elements (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain)
