About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform manual testing of an interactive, web-based weather visualization platform
Verify that features related to weather data (e.g., radar, map layers, storm patterns) function as intended and display accurately
Take part in live testing events during tornado outbreaks
Identify, document, and communicate bugs or anomalies clearly
Collaborate with the development team to confirm bug fixes and improve usability
Suggest improvements based on your understanding of weather data and end-user behavior

Requirements

What you’ll need

A current student in meteorology, climatology, environmental sciences, or a weather-related field OR a self-taught weather enthusiast with a deep understanding of radar maps, forecasting models, and storm tracking
User of different weather applications and weather data sources
Curious, observant, and detail-oriented, with a natural knack for spotting discrepancies
Strong communication skills and ability to document bugs clearly in English
Comfortable using web tools and navigating across browsers and devices
Nice to Have: Familiarity with QA principles (e.g., exploratory testing, regression testing)
Experience using bug tracking or task management tools
Basic knowledge of how data feeds or weather APIs work
