About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Proactively approach potential new customers — with a focus on our Ideal Customer Profile.
  • Develop existing customers and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities across our sea and air services.
  • Keep the pipeline in the TMS fully under control — transparent, structured and goal-oriented.
  • Independently conduct client meetings, presentations and negotiations — always aiming to create real added value.
  • Monitor the market, competitors and relevant trends and derive smart sales initiatives.
  • Work closely with our product and pricing teams on rate requests, offers and tenders.
  • Manage RFQs from A to Z — including preparation, follow-up and close coordination with Operations.
  • Systematically track proposals and analyze post-mortems to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure clear communication between Sales, Product & Operations.
  • Actively contribute learnings and insights in weekly BDM meetings.
  • Think strategically and actively help shape sales approaches for the region.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Several years of experience in outside sales or business development — ideally in sea and air freight logistics.
  • Understands the needs of mid-sized (SME) customers — and how to engage and retain them long-term.
  • Pricing, tender management and structured sales processes are part of your core skill set.
  • Build, maintain and grow stable customer relationships — with strategic perspective and operational drive.
  • Pipeline and funnel management come naturally to you — data-driven, focused and with clear goal tracking.
  • Ideally, you know Southwest Germany inside out — from market structures to regional particularities.
  • Confident in German, negotiation-level in English; Spanish is a plus.
  • MS Office is standard for you; ideally you are also familiar with TMS systems.
  • Team player with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication and a hands-on mentality.
  • Quick thinker, structured worker, and approach challenges with a clear “let’s do it” attitude.
