About the role
- Provide American Sign Language (ASL)/English interpreting services for students, employees, and visitors of the university in a variety academic and professional settings.
- Provide American Sign Language (ASL)/English interpretation of pre-recorded media embedded in academic courses.
- Support ASL/English Interpreter Sr. and collaborate with campus stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state mandates regarding accommodation of students with disabilities including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, and other relevant local, state and federal laws.
- and adhere to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Code of Professional Conduct (CPC).
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five (5) years documented work experience interpreting in a wide range of settings including interpretations from ASL to Spoken English and Spoken English to ASL.
- Documented experience working in interpreting teams.
- RID, NAD or BEI certification.
