About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in producing book fairs by packing metal cases, boxes, and displays with book and non-book products
  • Pack all components and sub-components according to corporate procedures and productivity and quality standards
  • Ensure outbound cases, boxes, and displays are clean, safe, and in good condition
  • Process returned book fairs by unpacking cases, boxes, and displays
  • Monitor inventory levels and request replenishment for pick locations
  • Pick and pack customer reorders
  • Maintain a neat, clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Perform seasonal inventory production-line resets
  • Perform Fair Finishing and Assembly functions, including Quality Assurance scanning
  • Participate in physical inventory counting
  • Assist with Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale Events
  • Handle merchandise carefully and use warehouse equipment and tools properly
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or injuries immediately
  • Lift, pack, handle heavy objects, climb ladders, and push or pull display cases using proper techniques
  • Complete Labor Data Collection Cards accurately and on time
  • Operate motorized pallet jacks after successfully completing the SBF power equipment training program
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality
  • Maintain courteous and positive relationships with co-workers and customers
  • Comply with the drug and alcohol-free policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred
  • Basic product scanner proficiency, including ordering replenishment, with minimal errors
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally on a daily basis
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 30 lbs to a height of 70 inches occasionally on a daily basis
  • Ability to push wheeled cases exceeding 300 lbs with an initial force of up to 50 lbs and sustained force of up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to stand, reach, squat, bend, kneel, walk, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance as necessary
  • Ability to tolerate work in a non-air-conditioned environment
  • Ability to follow detailed assembly instructions accurately
  • Ability to use hands and arms for handling, reaching, and operating equipment
  • Required visual abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, plus focus adjustment
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality according to assigned schedule and company standards
  • Comply with the drug and alcohol-free policy
