About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations/supporting schedules across cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, G&A activity, and other general ledger accounts
- Perform account analyses, investigate variances, and support timely, accurate monthly and quarterly close activities
- Prepare schedules and documentation for internal reporting, external reporting, audits, quarterly reviews, and SOX compliance
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather information for accounting entries and analysis
- Drive cross-functional improvements and create process documentation
- Execute special ad hoc projects supporting the Finance team
- Support monthly close, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure accounting processes are timely, controlled, and scalable
- Collaborate with the Accounting team on reporting, audit requests, SOX compliance, and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- CPA or equivalent preferred
- Life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
- Public company experience preferred
- NetSuite and/or SAP experience preferred
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
- Exposure to SOX controls and audit support preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on open items
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and cross-functional partners
- Strong Excel and computer skills required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, well-supported work
- Curiosity, proactivity, and motivation to learn and grow within a developing accounting organization
