About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Managed APAC trade operations, ensured compliance with country-specific import/export regulations, coordinated with local authorities, and conducted frequent regulatory checks to maintain operational integrity.
  • Tracking of countries Free Trade Agreement (FTA) usage, identified instances of non-compliance or misapplication, analysed root causes, and implemented corrective actions to maximize trade benefits.
  • Update products HS code in SEA countries through SAP and advise on the accurate products' HS code based on the products information
  • Advise on accurate HS code for the questioned products (new products and the goods that could be classified as various HS codes)
  • Conduct FTA origin verification checking with countries through reviewing origin supporting documents
  • Explore cost saving initiatives while complying with classification regulations and all other legal requirements: Usage of FTAs, usage of other preferences, potential changes of sourcing and similar.
  • Proactively align with Purchasing and business stakeholders on potential initiatives
  • Support Manager in ensuring the new regulatory for each country in AP related to Customs and trade are updated and shares among the related stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed study in the area logistics/supply chain management/foreign trade or comparable qualification.
  • At least 5 years work experience in an international company in the area logistics/supply chain/ customs & trade compliance
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in custom compliance
  • Strong knowledge of HS classification (e.g. understand General Rules of Interpretation (GRI), (especially on industrial products)
  • Work experience dealing with FTA origin determination/origin verification (e.g. understand origin determination and origin verification process)
  • Work experience defending post customs audit conducted by customs authority
