About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Co-ops who are earlier in their academic journey and complete a successful rotation may be invited back during other semesters or summers to work with us again!
  • The successful co-op student will be provided with a project charter and description during their onboarding process.
  • The co-op will provide key deliverables in their assigned area at the end of their co-op assignment.
  • Project examples include (but are not limited to): Define and document process parameters, Quantify and lead actions needed for scrap reduction, Improve effectiveness and efficiency of key machinery in high volume work areas.
  • Participants should be responsible, able to work independently, and open to instruction.
  • S/he will be given developmental opportunities through tasks such as projects, job-rotation, hands-on training, and exposure to Schaeffler's manufacturing and technological processes.
  • Learn, understand, and adhere to the current specifications of the Quality Policy and Procedures and contribute to the achievement of quality objectives.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be pursuing an academic degree (preferably in automotive, industrial, or mechanical engineering)
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience utilizing written and verbal communications
  • Extremely self-motivated & driven to achieve results
  • Assertive approach to solving problems
  • Ability to prioritize
  • The ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods, and lift and move thirty pounds
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship
