About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Development and implementation of a regional purchasing strategy in the assigned categories in alignment with the relevant specialist areas and contact partners
- Regional responsibility for the costs of assigned category/categories
- Planning and tracking of budgetary prerequisites
- Analysis of the respective purchasing volume
- Generation of procurement strategies and market intelligence
- Identification, initiation, and promotion of potential savings and improvements (i.e. specification, make-or-buy, cost value analyses)
- Monitoring of project implementation and initiation of countermeasures if the project target is at risk
- Risk management and task force/troubleshooting with regards to quality/delivery issues for all relevant suppliers assigned
- Pricing , conditions, and contract negotiations as well as leading RFQs for relevant suppliers
- Initiation and implementation of the supplier selection and supplier approval process, in accordance with the category-specific requirements
- Active management of the supplier portfolio (ensuring the correct supplier assignment, classification, assessment, and development) & volatile supply-critical materials
- Regular coordination with the relevant specialist departments and the regional/local key stakeholders to assure and increase customer satisfaction
- Ensure suitable purchasing processes and tools are in place and followed
- Participation in shaping the process landscape in Purchasing, as well as the initiation and support of continuous improvement measures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent related field
- 2+ years of Purchasing (or other relevant) experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with purchasing and negotiations & working in cross-functional teams
- Experience in engineering technologies (Automation, Assembly Integration, Machines & Test Equipment)
- Capable of managing complex projects under pressure, while meeting due dates, & targets
- Willingness to travel 15% of the time
- External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship
