About the role

  • Ensure correct accounting treatment of real estate-related transactions (e.g., CAPEX, leases, capitalized costs and depreciation) in accordance with IFRS and German accounting standards (HGB)
  • Review and ensure compliance in the accounting treatment of real estate activities, with particular focus on IFRS 16 (lease accounting)
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal company requirements in the real estate area
  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and external auditors, especially in the context of audits and reporting
  • Prepare financial plans, budgets and forecasts for the global real estate portfolio and provide regular financial reports to management
  • Perform budget vs. actual analyses, identify variances and develop corrective measures to meet financial targets
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and Corporate Controlling as well as finance leads in other regions
  • Lead and develop a team covering Real Estate Accounting & Risk and Financial Planning & Reporting

Requirements

  • University degree in business/economics with a focus on finance, controlling or real estate, or a comparable qualification
  • Many years of professional experience in financial planning, controlling, accounting or corporate real estate finance, preferably within an international organization
  • Experience in managing and monitoring real estate or fixed assets and in applying accounting standards such as IFRS (in particular IFRS 16) and HGB
  • Deep knowledge of financial planning, budgeting and reporting as well as operational real estate accounting processes
  • Proficient user of SAP and common financial and controlling tools
  • Experience leading international teams
  • Very good command of German and English, both written and spoken
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and a solution-oriented working style
