About the role
- Strategic and operational overall responsibility for all product groups, including production materials and trade goods for the entire Energy Systems business unit
- Significant scope to develop and implement cost-reduction measures as a contribution to the company’s success
- Further development of the supplier portfolio (national and international), including necessary on-site visits and the corresponding contract drafting
- Identification and proposing of product alternatives/complements in coordination with the specialist departments
- Requirements determination in coordination with stakeholders, inventory monitoring and materials planning/dispatch
- Preparation of requests for quotation and obtaining and evaluating offers
- Issuing purchase orders and scheduling delivery dates in coordination with production
- Processing order confirmations, monitoring delivery dates and handling complaints/claims
- Development of logistics concepts to ensure supply availability during shortages
- Conducting supplier audits in cooperation with our SHEQ management
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a comparable qualification — or equivalent qualification with further training as a certified purchasing and materials management specialist
- Several years of professional experience in purchasing raw materials or production materials
- Expertise in material planning/dispatch for a production operation
- High level of initiative, a proactive working style and a hands-on mentality
- Confident manner when dealing with suppliers and strong negotiation skills
- Independent and target-oriented working style combined with strong team and communication skills
- Good SAP user skills
- Confident English language skills
