About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • As an E/E Components Designer, you will be responsible for a design area within Sensors & Actuators (Mechatronics).
  • Work in synergy with R&D sub-areas, Purchasing, Customers, Suppliers, Production, Commercial areas (TRATON business value chain), group companies and other interface areas in the development and continuous improvement of current products.
  • Execute, evaluate and monitor, when necessary, functional, environmental and electrical tests, and propose methodologies for these tests to meet applicable standards, regulations and TRATON criteria.
  • Analyze product specification deviations and develop technical proposals, reviewing HW and SW requirements, conducting tests and measurements, and discussing findings with suppliers and interface areas.
  • Document product development activities (modifications or introduction of new functionalities).
  • Provide information to TRATON Global Product Engineering (Sweden, Germany, United States and Brazil).
  • Represent TRATON to customers, suppliers and educational institutions on technical product matters.
  • You will be part of an agile global team composed of designers, a Product Owner and Scrum Master from all TRATON brands. The team integrates the value creation flow for Cab and E/E, making collaboration with other teams and cross-functional areas essential for development.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in design and testing of electrical/electronic hardware, including development processes (at OEMs or suppliers).
  • Experience in system/software testing (plus).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or related fields, with active CREA registration or ability to obtain the registration immediately upon hire.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5.
  • Fluent English – you will lead global initiatives and tasks.
  • Microsoft 365 (Office).
  • Availability for occasional travel.
  • Serve as a technical reference within the global team.
  • Experience presenting at global forums such as Design Reviews and Technical Meetings.
  • Knowledge of development from concept through introduction.
  • Experience supporting other team members in onboarding and day-to-day activities.
  • Experience or knowledge in project coordination and planning.
  • Product knowledge: Heavy vehicles – trucks (preferred).
