About the role
- Coordinating legal support for Scania’s procurement function.
- Working closely with procurement function to integrate legal considerations into decision-making and processes and align priorities with business needs.
- Driving innovation in legal service delivery by exploring and applying new methods and tools, including AI.
- Advising on overarching legal matters, including strategy, process development, and proactive risk management.
- Providing hands-on legal support in all procurement-related legal areas, particularly contract- and commercial law.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, term sheets, and formal communications with counterparties.
- Managing disputes and handling matters related to supplier insolvency and bankruptcies.
- Coordinating and supervising external counsel.
- Designing and delivering legal training sessions for procurement managers.
- Developing, updating, and maintaining contract templates, handbooks, and other legal guidance.
Requirements
- A Swedish law degree (or equivalent) and 7+ years of relevant legal experience from a reputable law firm and/or in-house role.
- Experience in supporting procurement or supply chain operations within a multinational company.
- Extensive experience in commercial contract law and commercial negotiations.
- Additional expertise in other areas relevant for the procurement function such as IP, IT, transport, construction, or insolvency law is an advantage.
- Experience with digitalization and innovation of legal service delivery is meritorious.
- Fluency in Swedish and English is required; proficiency in German is an advantage.
