About the role

  • Coordinating legal support for Scania’s procurement function.
  • Working closely with procurement function to integrate legal considerations into decision-making and processes and align priorities with business needs.
  • Driving innovation in legal service delivery by exploring and applying new methods and tools, including AI.
  • Advising on overarching legal matters, including strategy, process development, and proactive risk management.
  • Providing hands-on legal support in all procurement-related legal areas, particularly contract- and commercial law.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, term sheets, and formal communications with counterparties.
  • Managing disputes and handling matters related to supplier insolvency and bankruptcies.
  • Coordinating and supervising external counsel.
  • Designing and delivering legal training sessions for procurement managers.
  • Developing, updating, and maintaining contract templates, handbooks, and other legal guidance.

Requirements

  • A Swedish law degree (or equivalent) and 7+ years of relevant legal experience from a reputable law firm and/or in-house role.
  • Experience in supporting procurement or supply chain operations within a multinational company.
  • Extensive experience in commercial contract law and commercial negotiations.
  • Additional expertise in other areas relevant for the procurement function such as IP, IT, transport, construction, or insolvency law is an advantage.
  • Experience with digitalization and innovation of legal service delivery is meritorious.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English is required; proficiency in German is an advantage.
