About the role

  • Develop and maintain backend services for Scaleway’s network connectivity products
  • Design and implement gRPC APIs in Rust for cloud networking services
  • Work on features related to InterLink, Site-to-Site VPN, and Public Gateway
  • Debug complex networking or distributed systems issues
  • Investigate and resolve customer-related technical incidents in collaboration with the support team
  • Participate in architectural and system design discussions
  • Contribute to improving the reliability and performance of networking services
  • Collaborate with teammates and other departments to deliver high-quality products
  • Participate in team rituals such as roadmap reviews, weekly retrospectives, and technical discussions
  • Contribute to experimentation, proof-of-concepts, and continuous learning initiatives

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Rust development
  • Experience designing or developing gRPC APIs
  • Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP, IP, UDP, BGP)
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL or relational databases
  • Familiarity with VPN technologies such as IPSec
  • Experience with networking tools or stacks such as FRR, GoBGP, or similar
  • Experience building or contributing to network infrastructure products
  • Strong collaboration mindset and team spirit
  • Curiosity and willingness to explore complex technical topics
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks
  • Open-minded attitude and willingness to learn outside your comfort zone.
