About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own ScalePad's accounting function end to end: financial reporting, tax and audit, treasury, payroll, and equity administration.
  • Lead a small team while being in the work, not just reviewing it.
  • Partner with the CFO in strategic financial decision-making.
  • Manage cash forecasting, banking platforms, FX, credit facilities.
  • Oversee payroll across Canadian and US entities, administer the equity program, and support benefits renewals.
  • Build the control environment for a scaling multi-entity group.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Canadian CPA designation (Chartered Professional Accountant).
  • Public practice foundation at a Big Four or large national accounting firm, with audit or tax depth.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a SaaS or software environment managing multiple entities.
  • Experience owning a controllership function (or clearly operating at that level) with a small team.
  • Multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation in a Canada/US cross-border structure.
  • Deep knowledge of ASPE and SaaS revenue recognition.
  • Proven track record leading external audits and managing tax compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Strong NetSuite (or similar ERP) proficiency; implementation or optimization experience.
