About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage the development and maintenance of all Scale to Win products and software.
Build and develop new features and products while ensuring the continued functionality and integrity of all existing systems.
Maintain existing product suite and strategically build for the future to ensure client needs are met.
Contribute to system design, technical architecture, and long-term infrastructure planning.
Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end customer features.
Participate in sprint planning, task estimation, and release deployment processes.
Communicate technical concepts clearly, provide constructive feedback, and mentor team members.
Respond to production outages and support cross-functional client technical requests.

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience and a proven track record of leading multi-sprint projects from requirements to shipped products.
Design and operate distributed systems at scale capable of handling unexpected traffic spikes using resiliency patterns such as rate limiting, retries, queuing, backpressure, and graceful degradation.
Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node, PostgreSQL, and AWS managed with Terraform.
Experience integrating third-party services and gracefully handling service failures (carrier or telephony experience is a plus).
Write clean, readable, and maintainable code, prioritize quality to prevent production errors, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfortable leading incident response to prevent recurrence, participating in a night/weekend on-call rotation, and working extra evenings or weekends during peak election seasons and high client volumes.
