About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Safely perform assigned floor care functions according to standards and procedures
Perform environmental services and contractual floor-care duties, including waxing, stripping, and buffing
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
Work with other employees to complete assignments
Maintain a clean work area and assigned areas
Fill in during staff shortages in custodial, recycling, or maintenance functions
Support the shift lead with punch-list items
Use required personal protective equipment
Operate motorized cleaning equipment
Perform daily upkeep and cleaning and maintenance of tile, carpet, and brick floors
Complete work assignments in a timely manner
Use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
Properly and safely operate and maintain equipment
Observe safety precautions and use wet-floor safety signs
Work without normal supervision and report safety hazards

Requirements

What you’ll need

No education requirement
6 months–1 year of experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
May be required to have a valid driver’s license
Complete all safety and task training certification
May be required to be forklift certified
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
