About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Safely perform assigned floor care functions according to standards and procedures
- Perform environmental services and contractual floor-care duties, including waxing, stripping, and buffing
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Work with other employees to complete assignments
- Maintain a clean work area and assigned areas
- Fill in during staff shortages in custodial, recycling, or maintenance functions
- Support the shift lead with punch-list items
- Use required personal protective equipment
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment
- Perform daily upkeep and cleaning and maintenance of tile, carpet, and brick floors
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner
- Use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
- Properly and safely operate and maintain equipment
- Observe safety precautions and use wet-floor safety signs
- Work without normal supervision and report safety hazards
Requirements
What you’ll need- No education requirement
- 6 months–1 year of experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license
- Complete all safety and task training certification
- May be required to be forklift certified
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
