About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Safely perform assigned floor care functions according to standards, procedures, and regulations
- Perform environmental services and contractual custodial duties as needed
- Wax, strip, buff, clean, and maintain tile, carpet, and brick floors
- Operate and maintain motorized cleaning equipment safely and correctly
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned areas and keep work areas clean
- Use appropriate chemicals, supplies, safety signs, and personal protective equipment
- Complete work assignments and punch-list items in a timely manner
- Fill in during staff shortages in custodial, recycling, or maintenance functions
- Report safety hazards and stop at-risk behaviors
- Work with employees, supervisors, managers, leads, co-workers, and customers professionally
Requirements
What you’ll need- No education requirement
- 6 months–1 year of experience preferred
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license
- Must complete all safety and task training certification
- May be required to be forklift certified
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, compounds, and chemicals and their safe, efficient use
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
- Ability to work repetitive tasks and without normal supervision
- Candidates must be U.S. Citizens
