About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee day-to-day account operations and serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts
  • Develop and manage client relationships and ensure service levels are achieved
  • Resolve client conflicts and employee issues
  • Meet client deadlines and oversee account management
  • Negotiate contracts, establish budgets, and maximize profitability
  • Achieve financial targets and ensure efficient operation of assigned responsibilities
  • Support vendor contract negotiations, competitive RFPs, and self-perform opportunity assessments
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio reports and participate in governance meetings
  • Collaborate with site managers on vendor program quality, compliance, cost savings, sustainability, and efficiency initiatives
  • Administer internal performance audits and drive corrective action plans
  • Support regulatory agency inspection reviews
  • Enforce company policies and procedures and involve Human Resources when appropriate
  • Recruit, hire, structure, evaluate, and develop high-performing teams
  • Identify sales opportunities, prepare sales presentations, and track and forecast sales results
  • Communicate monthly and quarterly initiative progress to internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan, assign, and direct employees’ work with site managers and supervisors
  • Provide leadership and convey SBM’s vision and values to team members
  • Travel as required and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of facilities management or janitorial operations experience
  • At least 3 years of management experience overseeing multiple sites, client relationships, budgets, and large employee populations
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Proven success managing service contracts, operational performance metrics, labor utilization, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction in a facilities services environment
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, including contract compliance, SLA management, and issue resolution
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety, environmental compliance, and janitorial industry best practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and workforce management, facilities management, CMMS, or related operational systems
  • Ability to respond to customer, regulatory agency, and business community inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to present information and answer questions for managers, customers, employees, and the public
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple account management projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Management and supervisory experience, including interviewing, hiring, work assignment, performance evaluations, timecard management, employee discipline, complaint handling, and problem resolution
  • Ability to ensure employees are trained on tasks and safety requirements
  • May be required to have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to sit, talk, listen, and lift or move up to 35 pounds
