About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support execution of the company’s sustainability strategy in alignment with business goals, mission, vision and values
  • Contribute to the annual Sustainability Report
  • Prepare presentations and management reports
  • Research industry trends, best practices, standards and emerging regulations
  • Facilitate implementation of the renewable energy strategy
  • Deliver cross-functional sustainability assignments
  • Analyze benchmarks and key performance indicators
  • Report project workstream outcomes and recommend improvements
  • Support sustainability analysis for annual shareholder engagement meetings
  • Draft responses to credit and sustainability rating agencies and key customers
  • Collaborate with operations, accounting and commercial affairs teams
  • Research sustainability legislation, regulations and standards for compliance
  • Support climate risk and impact assessments and voluntary/regulatory reporting
  • Collect, analyze and report quantitative and qualitative sustainability data and metrics
  • Contribute to Scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions accounting under GHG Protocol standards
  • Prepare periodic reports tracking project workstreams
  • Identify operational efficiencies, cost savings and improved resource management opportunities
  • Review external statements and policies annually
  • Provide guidance and review junior team members’ work
  • Encourage engagement around sustainable practices throughout the company
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant business experience in corporate sustainability or management consulting
  • Ability to conduct sustainability strategy and program research and data collection
  • Foundational business acumen
  • Experience supporting sustainability reporting for publicly listed companies
  • Exposure to GRI, SASB, IFRS S1/S2 and related industry standards
  • Exposure to sustainability regulatory requirements
  • Foundational analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of emissions accounting under GHG Protocol standards
  • Strong communication and business writing skills
  • Ability to perform research and analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel or crouch
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Visual ability correctable to 20/20
  • Ability to respond verbally in an understandable, professional manner
  • Manual dexterity for computer, calculator and equipment use
