About the role
- End-to-end project management: You are responsible for the on-time and on-budget planning and execution of our substation and large-scale battery storage projects.
- Trade coordination: You manage and coordinate all involved contractors and service providers (civil works, building construction, primary and secondary equipment, cabling).
- Interface management: You act as the central point of contact for all stakeholders, in particular grid operators, customers and suppliers.
- Site presence: You ensure on-site quality, support critical project phases through commissioning and certification, and monitor compliance with project standards and quality requirements.
- Risk management: You identify technical, schedule and financial risks, develop appropriate mitigation measures and report regularly to management.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): You oversee compliance with safety standards on construction sites and promote a safety-conscious company culture.
- Reporting & controlling: You ensure transparent project governance through regular reporting on costs, progress and KPIs.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a comparable technical discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Demonstrable project experience in at least three energy projects as a Project Engineer or Deputy Project Manager and in at least one energy project as the responsible Project Manager. At least one of these references must be a project at a voltage level of 110 kV or higher.
- Solid knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. VDE, DIN, EnWG) as well as permitting procedures.
- Ideally you have an established network with German grid operators, suppliers and service providers.
- Excellent German language skills (written and spoken) and business-fluent English.
- Strong negotiation skills, leadership ability, conflict resolution skills and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Germany to support project sites.
- Ability to interpret project metrics, identify optimization potential and derive appropriate actions.
