About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Oversee critical daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and expense management.
- Leverage AI tools to execute core accounting workflows and reduce manual work.
- Assist in the administration and optimization of the financial tech stack (e.g., transitioning from Quickbooks to AI-native ERP, managing tools like Numeric, Brex and Navan).
- Serve as a key liaison for external auditors, preparing work papers, schedules and technical accounting memos to prepare for the first financial audit.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A, People and Legal teams to ensure data integrity and support department-level budgeting and forecasting.
- Assist with tax research and compliance, including 1099s.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and in-house at a venture-backed company.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field with an active CPA license.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Netsuite, Campfire, Rillet, Quickbooks) and modern finance tools (e.g. Stripe, Rippling, Brex, Salesforce).
- Strong knowledge of data tools and advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets.
- High degree of flexibility and the ability to pivot quickly as business priorities change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
