About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain precise, up-to-date financial records within QuickBooks Online
  • Record, categorize, and reconcile all bank accounts and credit card transactions
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Monitor accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), investigating and resolving any financial discrepancies
  • Manage and reconcile attorney trust accounts (IOLTA) in strict compliance with legal accounting regulations
  • Meticulously track client retainers, trust fund deposits, and trust disbursements
  • Calculate employee wages, bonuses, commissions, and incentive structures
  • Generate accurate client invoices and coordinate with attorneys on complex billing matters
  • Prepare comprehensive year-end financial reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of dedicated accounting and full-charge bookkeeping experience
  • Prior experience working within a U.S.-based law firm is highly preferred
  • Advanced, expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (data analysis, formulas, and reporting)
  • Experience with Sustainable HR (or similar payroll systems) and Bill.com is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with legal practice management software is a strong plus
