About the role

  • Manage Save the Children Germany’s reactive and proactive community management, particularly on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn (occasionally including weekends)
  • Continuously develop and update community FAQs and guidelines in line with Save the Children Germany’s current communication policies
  • Research relevant posts on Save the Children’s priority topics (including using our social listening tool) and proactively engage with them
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for our growing online community and our small community management team
  • Develop a strategic concept for community management in collaboration with the Social Media Lead to build an engaged social media community and optimize internal processes
  • Continuously develop and grow our online communities
  • Regularly analyze and prepare community feedback for the Public Engagement team and all relevant internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent qualification and several years of professional experience in communications / community management / digital communication / PR / marketing communications or journalism
  • Experience maintaining and strategically developing online communities
  • Strong ability to quickly grasp complex subject matter, identify potential reputational risks and derive appropriate actions
  • Experience handling sensitive or distressing topics and content; ideally knowledge of resilience concepts and their practical application
  • Experience working with community management tools and in process optimization
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant online platforms and their functionalities
  • Structured and detail-oriented working style, strong team skills and empathy
  • Interest in children’s rights, international development and humanitarian aid
  • Excellent German and English skills
