About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Directs and leads safe operations for the assigned facility
- Provides direct line responsibility for day support staff
- Manages the safe and efficient operation of the facility to meet Department of Energy (DOE) requirements
- Manages, plans, prioritizes, and coordinates procedures, ticklers, and waste transfers
- Attends daily facility meetings including Shift Turnover Briefing, Plan of the Day (POD), Plan of the Week (POW), Work Control planning meetings, among other Project Meetings
- Provides direction for team members in support of projects
- Provides input into the selection, training, and qualification of operations personnel
- Develops and implements the facility mission, vision and principles including facility specific operations performance goals and standards
- Ensures Abnormal Operating Procedure/Emergency Operating Procedures (AOP/EOPs) and other administrative operations procedures are consistent for the facility
- Conducts investigations of operations abnormal events to identify and correct the root cause of the event
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS in Engineering or related technical or science degree and related experience; or BS in a non-technical discipline and related experience; or High School Diploma or GED and a combination of secondary education and/or experience
- Bachelors of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Engineering (preferred)
- Experience working in a nuclear facility/site (preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership experience including previous direct people management (preferred)
- Project management experience (preferred)
- Broad understanding of environmental laws and regulations, DOE orders and knowledge of company policies (preferred)
