About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Directs and leads safe operations for the assigned facility
Provides direct line responsibility for day support staff
Manages the safe and efficient operation of the facility to meet Department of Energy (DOE) requirements
Manages, plans, prioritizes, and coordinates procedures, ticklers, and waste transfers
Attends daily facility meetings including Shift Turnover Briefing, Plan of the Day (POD), Plan of the Week (POW), Work Control planning meetings, among other Project Meetings
Provides direction for team members in support of projects
Provides input into the selection, training, and qualification of operations personnel
Develops and implements the facility mission, vision and principles including facility specific operations performance goals and standards
Ensures Abnormal Operating Procedure/Emergency Operating Procedures (AOP/EOPs) and other administrative operations procedures are consistent for the facility
Conducts investigations of operations abnormal events to identify and correct the root cause of the event

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS in Engineering or related technical or science degree and related experience; or BS in a non-technical discipline and related experience; or High School Diploma or GED and a combination of secondary education and/or experience
Bachelors of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Engineering (preferred)
Experience working in a nuclear facility/site (preferred)
Demonstrated leadership experience including previous direct people management (preferred)
Project management experience (preferred)
Broad understanding of environmental laws and regulations, DOE orders and knowledge of company policies (preferred)
