About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gather information concerning the capabilities of process control systems and investigate technical capabilities.
- Analyze customer problems and assist in designing systems to satisfy customer needs.
- Prepare equipment analysis to instruct customers in equipment capabilities.
- Document, test, maintain, and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Determine computer user needs, analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls of limited scope.
- Prepare operating instructions on assigned work.
- May conduct research and testing of electrical or mechanical hardware related to process controls.
- Ensure reliability, develop technical specifications for production, analyze hardware configuration and processing solutions, and test hardware conformance to specifications based on well-defined processes.
- Design new or modify existing products following specific detailed instructions.
- Test, document, operate and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with process controls mechanical and electrical systems.
- Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system.
- Review developments in hardware and software provided by higher level developers and/or managers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma, Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree in a non-Engineering discipline, or Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Technology
- Process control system and instrumentation experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university (for Engineer position)
