About the role
- Plan and develop conventional engineering and scientific solutions using SRMC engineering methodologies and requirements
- Assist more senior engineering personnel and assume technical responsibility for phases of a program or unit operations
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide innovative improvements to existing processes
- Project engineering support, facility engineering support, process flow sheet analysis and development
- Develop procurement requirements and specifications; perform technical calculations and reviews; conduct design reviews
- Safety analysis development and commercial grade dedication
- (Senior Engineer III) Provide innovative methods on highly complex problems and collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders (e.g., DOE, regulators)
- (Senior Engineer III) Serve as primary technical contact on large projects; act as Design Authority for assigned SSCs and maintain system configurations and Safety Basis consistency
- Provide operations assistance determining equipment operability, correcting out of specification conditions, and evaluating questionable data
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- BS Degree in Engineering, applicable science or related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
- Relevant professional engineering experience (Senior Engineer I: minimum 4+ years; Senior Engineer III: minimum 6+ years)
- Knowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices
- Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards
- Ability to perform walkdowns
- Good organizational and communication skills; ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a changing environment with multiple demands and priorities
