💰 $74,000 - $125,000 per year
About the role
- Implement solutions to mechanical, chemical, electrical and/or nuclear needs to meet standards set by the Department of Energy (DOE) for the Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) project
- Assume technical responsibility for one or more phases of a program and/or ownership for unit operations within processing facilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide innovative improvements to the existing processes
- Provide project engineering support, facility engineering support, process flow sheet analysis and development, procurement requirements and specifications development
- Perform technical calculations and reviews, design reviews, safety analysis development, and commercial grade dedication
- Perform studies, development, testing and analysis of designs, processes and/or procedures as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Explore approaches and recommend improvements under moderate guidance from Manager and/or higher level engineers
- Apply SRMC and department systems, methodologies and requirements and use proper tools and protective equipment
- May provide guidance and/or informal mentoring to new engineers and may present/explain technical information to team, department or facility
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university; or Currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Engineering or closely related STEM field with expected graduation by June 30, 2026 (applicant must include expected graduation date on resume); or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with professional engineering experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 2+ years professional engineering experience
- Knowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices
- Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a changing environment with multiple demands and priorities
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Sound technical knowledge base of discipline’s standard concepts, principles, and techniques
- GPA of 2.8 or higher (please list GPA in the profile)
- Apply training of SRMC and specific department systems, methodologies and requirements
- Appropriate use of proper tools and protective equipment required to complete tasks
