About the role
- Leads planning, implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls across IT and OT environments.
- Direct daily security operations, including incident response, vulnerability management, threat monitoring, disaster recovery and cyber configuration oversight for IT/OT systems.
- Supports and orchestrates the development and maintenance of the Certification and Accreditation package in a DOE cyber security environment.
- Develop, update, and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures and governance documentation.
- Conduct and oversee risk assessments, security architecture reviews, and continuous monitoring activities.
- Coordinate with executives, system owners, service providers and auditors to ensure compliance with NIST, DOE and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage cybersecurity staff, contractors, and service providers, including workload prioritization, performance oversight and professional development.
- Prepare and deliver reports, dashboards, and briefings for leadership, governance bodies and oversight organizations.
- Support enterprise planning efforts, including cybersecurity roadmaps, budget development and resource allocation.

Requirements
- BS in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent field and progressive professional experience.
- Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance or related discipline (preferred).
- Demonstrated background in audit readiness, compliance assessments, and corrective action planning.
- Demonstrated experience developing cyber security maturity models, roadmaps and executive level reporting.
- Experience securing government cloud environments (e.g. Azure GCC/GCCH).
- Experience with OT/ICS cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST SP 800-82.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC or cloud security certifications.
- Experience implementing Zero Trust principles and modern identity architectures.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with progressive responsibility.
- Experience working in a federally regulated environment.
- Experience working in a Department of Energy regulated environment.
