About the role

  • Leads planning, implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls across IT and OT environments.
  • Direct daily security operations, including incident response, vulnerability management, threat monitoring, disaster recovery and cyber configuration oversight for IT/OT systems.
  • Supports and orchestrates the development and maintenance of the Certification and Accreditation package in a DOE cyber security environment.
  • Develop, update, and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures and governance documentation.
  • Conduct and oversee risk assessments, security architecture reviews, and continuous monitoring activities.
  • Coordinate with executives, system owners, service providers and auditors to ensure compliance with NIST, DOE and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage cybersecurity staff, contractors, and service providers, including workload prioritization, performance oversight and professional development.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, dashboards, and briefings for leadership, governance bodies and oversight organizations.
  • Support enterprise planning efforts, including cybersecurity roadmaps, budget development and resource allocation.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BS in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent field and progressive professional experience.
  • Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance or related discipline (preferred).
  • Demonstrated background in audit readiness, compliance assessments, and corrective action planning.
  • Demonstrated experience developing cyber security maturity models, roadmaps and executive level reporting.
  • Experience securing government cloud environments (e.g. Azure GCC/GCCH).
  • Experience with OT/ICS cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST SP 800-82.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC or cloud security certifications.
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust principles and modern identity architectures.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with progressive responsibility.
  • Experience working in a federally regulated environment.
  • Experience working in a Department of Energy regulated environment.
