About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Site Quality Manager and Project Manager
- Determine conformance of materials, equipment, and installations to specifications
- Inspect project activities on a 12-mile pipeline construction project, including excavations, concrete, rebar, PV installation, underground utilities, welding, piping, valves, and other equipment
- Generate daily and weekly reports of inspection conditions
- Notify management of significant problems
- Complete documentation confirming satisfactory completion of inspection and test activities
- Promote and comply with Company safety policies and procedures
- Monitor and record work according to the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP)
- Conduct pre-construction quality control inspections and work with field operating teams to prevent deficiencies
- Detect and address deficiencies in a timely and effective manner
- Inspect work and establish punch lists
- Ensure daily quality task schedules support the project schedule
- Work with the Client and field quality staff as their field representative to ensure QA/QC requirements are followed
- Interface with field supervision and communicate with craft personnel and other team members
- Maintain complete and accurate inspection records for permanent hard-copy or electronic files
- Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
- 3-5 years’ experience in the Construction Trades Inspection related certifications
- CWI required
- Working knowledge of the code(s) of construction being used for the project
- Ability to use inspection tools, including Gal-Gauge, Pick Gauge, Hi-Lo gauge, and Filler Gauge
- Ability to read and interpret ISO and P&IDs and red-line ISO
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures
- Required exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil/gas, industrial, and welding activities
- Ability to independently perform piping system walkdowns, structural walkdowns, and civil inspections
- Ability to write daily reports and document project activities
- Ability to collect and record field data in accordance with corporate Quality Control procedures
- Ability to ensure effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned project tasks
- Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the property and laydown yards, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
