About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply skills and knowledge to determine conformance of materials, equipment, and installations to specifications
  • Inspect project activities on a 12-mile pipeline project, including excavations, concrete, rebar, PV installation, underground utilities, welding, piping, valves, and other equipment
  • Promote and comply with company safety policies and procedures
  • Generate daily and weekly reports of inspection conditions
  • Notify management of significant problems
  • Complete documentation confirming satisfactory completion of inspection and test activities
  • Monitor and record work according to the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP)
  • Conduct pre-construction quality control inspections and prevent deficiencies
  • Detect and address deficiencies promptly and effectively
  • Inspect work and establish punch lists
  • Ensure daily quality task schedules meet the project schedule
  • Collaborate with the client, field quality staff, field supervision, craft personnel, and other team members
  • Maintain complete and accurate inspection records for permanent hard-copy or electronic files
  • Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment
  • Perform piping system walkdowns, structural walkdowns, and civil inspections
  • Ensure effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned project tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Construction Trades
  • CWI required
  • Self-starter, organized, and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use inspection tools, including Gal-Gauge, Pick Gauge, Hi-Lo gauge, and Filler Gauge
  • Ability to read and interpret ISO and P&IDs and red-line ISO
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures
  • Exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil/gas, industrial, and welding activities
  • Ability to independently perform piping system walkdowns, structural walkdowns, and civil inspections
  • Ability to write daily reports and document project activities
  • Ability to collect and record field data according to corporate Quality Control procedures
  • Ability to implement the quality control program for assigned project tasks
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
