About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for designing and implementing Oracle database solutions including creating data models, schemas, and database objects.
- Participate in SDLC such as requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment of Oracle PL/SQL code, stored procedures, triggers, and packages.
- Optimize database performance through tuning of SQL scripts, indexing, and improving the data structure.
- Collaborate closely with teams across different functions to effectively integrate Oracle databases with various systems and applications.
- Ensure the integrity of the data and a smooth flow of information between systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and other team members such as conducting reviews on the code, architecture and design to ensure that best practices and standards are followed.
- Identify and resolve complex database issues, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for database designs, processes, and procedures.
- Taking the lead and actively participating in various projects to ensure their successful and timely delivery.
- Work closely with delivery leads/managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide solutions that align with the business needs.
- Stay informed about the latest industry trends, advancements in technologies, and best practices for Oracle database development.
- Maintain a safe working environment for team members, contractors and visitors, and ensure that others are not put at risk.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as an Oracle Developer with a strong record of successful database projects
- Strong Oracle Retail experience
- Expertise in PL/SQL, SQL, and database design principles
- Expertise in Oracle Forms, Reports
- Expertise in Oracle database and DB2 technologies
- Experience in APEX
- Experience in Shell Scripts
- Knowledgeable in Pro*C
- Experience in implementing DevOps for Database Deployment (CI/CD for Automated Deployment of Database scripts)
- Knowledge of Order Management System
- Familiarity with Workato, Kafka, Automic
