About the role
- Design detailed mockups and/or prototypes to effectively communicate software designs, UI patterns, and user interactions, ensuring consistency and scalability.
- Work in global, cross functional teams to translate requirements into formal UX designs.
- Partner with developers, designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to influence functional requirements, validate implementations, ensure design intent is preserved, and collaborate on innovative designs.
- Conduct user research focused on understanding user behavior leading to software improvements.
- Prepare and conduct user surveys, design reviews, and usability tests with key stakeholders and representative users to validate and iterate designs as needed.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative user research data and present findings and recommendations to inform design decisions.
- Gain appropriate levels of proficiency with SAS software and information systems, Filament Design System, AI, and design tools to support user experience design activities.
- Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in user experience design and research.
- Ability to understand complex and technical problems and to empathize with users facing them.
- Experiences using design and research skills to solve complex user problems in highly technical domains.
- Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools, particularly Figma, for design and developer handoff.
- Experience designing for WCAG compliance and understanding of accessibility principles, including keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and inclusive design practices.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
- Available online portfolio demonstrating design deliverables (user experience designs, personas, journey maps, wireframes, research, and prototypes).
- Bachelor’s degree in UX, Interactive Media/Design, Information Architecture, Human Computer Interaction, or in a related design field such as Computer Science, Visual Communications, or the like.
- Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
