About the role

  • You design and build both functional and non-functional hardware prototypes to support product development
  • You work closely with internal engineering teams to collaboratively solve technical challenges
  • You collaborate with external partners to integrate new technologies and hardware solutions
  • You create precise, production-ready designs using CAD software
  • You build prototypes using rapid prototyping (3D printing) and hardware integration (metal and woodworking machines), coordinating closely with automation engineers on software prototype development
  • You perform engineering analyses (structural, thermal, vibration, corrosion) and make data-driven decisions
  • You communicate effectively across team boundaries to ensure projects are delivered successfully and in alignment

Requirements

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in product design and development
  • Proficient with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar software
  • Comfortable developing both proofs of concept and production-ready prototypes
  • Demonstrable applied mechanical engineering knowledge in product design and verification
  • Understanding of automation instrumentation and its application in product development
  • Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on hardware designs
  • Clear and concise communication of ideas and technical concepts to other teams and stakeholders
  • Practical experience or hobbies using tools, machines, soldering equipment, etc., for building and testing mechanical systems
  • Good German and English language skills
