Execute on-water technical operations and lead hands-on field activities for autonomous maritime platforms
Operate Saronic assets during mission phases including launch, recovery, escort, and safety overwatch for ASV operations
Lead testing of autonomous platforms, including test campaign planning and coordination of daily tests and testing campaigns
Maintain detailed logs of operational behavior and performance to provide feedback to engineering, program, and customer-facing teams
Operate and support daily operations of the Marauder platform
Provide technical troubleshooting for autonomous vessels and command and control software and conduct root cause analysis
Support personnel in utilization of operations technology and streamline operational processes for product and company
Interpret nautical charts, weather forecasts, and navigational tools to support mission planning and execution
Perform able-bodied-seaman duties and operate in dynamic marine environments, including low-light and night conditions
Collaborate across engineering, program, and customer teams and manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field
Experience in maritime operations, particularly with autonomous or unmanned systems
Experience with command and control software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
Achieved consistent success in managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations
Prior experience working with the DoD or other government agencies is a plus
Background in U.S. maritime environments and practices is preferred
Prior boating experience is a plus
Background in marine engineering, marine electrical, or related trade is a plus
STCW Basic Safety Training (or willingness to complete)
TWIC (if required)
Current marine medical certificate
Valid passport
Must be able to pass a background check and USCG/DOT drug testing
Security clearance eligibility preferred
Must possess situational awareness, proactive mindset, and commitment to operational excellence
Technically proficient working within a Linux environment
Understanding of electronics and how they communicate with software
Ability to certify as “fit for work” by demonstrating ability to swim and tread water
Frequently and repetitively able to lift, push and carry up to 75 lbs.
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods (up to 12 hours/day)
Ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Job requires up to 50% travel
