About the role
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols for shipyard processes
- Perform inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, Regulatory/Military standards, and customer requirements
- Identify opportunities for improvement within shipyard operations and recommend solutions
- Conduct inspections and oversight of critical processes
- Support harbor and sea trial activities by verifying system readiness
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality findings
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and military standards, customer specifications, ISO 9001, and internal company policies
- Partner with engineering, production, and program teams to resolve quality issues
- Support training of shipyard personnel and inspectors on quality requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or related roles within shipbuilding, defense, or complex manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of shipyard fabrication processes (welding, hull construction, outfitting, electrical/electronic integration)
- Proficiency in inspection tools, measurement techniques, and software for data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and defense/maritime quality standards is preferred
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
