About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide development support, conceptual design, and owner's engineer services for electric power projects
Perform technical evaluations of electric power generation projects and facilities
Develop solutions to meet project management needs and client requirements
Conduct engineering design reviews and technical due diligence
Support project economic and cost analysis, risk assessments, and contract development
Coordinate project financials, schedule status, risks and mitigation plans, contract backlogs, project status, and staffing plans
Provide high-level coordination, administrative, and analytical support to project teams
Attend internal and client project meetings at the Project Manager's discretion
Assist with scheduling deadlines and maintaining deliverable schedules for multiple projects
Lead or guide automation and process-improvement work involving engineering calculations, technical document summaries, and design documentation
Oversee engineers who program or script in Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel, including review of automated outputs
Travel within the United States and internationally

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
Acceptable disciplines include electrical, mechanical, civil, and chemical engineering
7 or more years of independent engineering experience for power projects and/or experience in development of power projects
Experience with multiple power generation technologies, including thermal and renewables
Ability to organize and prioritize work and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Working knowledge of MS Office tools, with advanced use of MS Excel for detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels
Must not require employer sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S.
Experience writing technical reports and proposals
Project planning and leadership skills
PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is valued but not required
Experience with project finance or financial modeling of power projects is a plus
Experience with owner's engineering activities during power project execution is a plus
Experience in mechanical design of thermal power projects is desired but not required
Willingness or ability to lead others using data, automation, and AI tools
Additional learning in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields is valued but not required
Experience overseeing Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel automation is valued but not required
